Marshall Artists Series re-creates famous Vegas show at Keith-Albee

December 01, 2009 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- The singing of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin and Joey Bishop was brought back to life at the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center Monday night with the show, "The Rat Pack is Back: Here for the Holidays."

The impersonators of those famous members of the so-called Rat Pack were accompanied by full orchestra to bring the sounds of yesteryear to the Tri-State. Hits performed by the artists included "That's Amore," "My Way" and "Mr. Bojangles."

The "Rat Pack is Back!" performance re-creates one of the famous "Summit at the Sands" nights in Las Vegas.

Monday's show was part of Marshall University's Marshall Artists Series. The next show in the series is "Cats" on Feb. 8 and 9.

For more information or to buy tickets to the next event, visit www.marshallartistsseries.org. Tickets also can be purchased at the Marshall Artists Series box office, located in the Joan C. Edwards Playhouse, open noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
