Chesapeake hosts 'Walk-n-Rollathon'
CHESAPEAKE, Ohio -- Chesapeake School District is hosting a "Walk-n-Rollathon" to raise money for the family of Jacob Thacker.
Five-year-old Thacker has been diagnosed with a rare brain cancer, medulloblastoma.
The Walk-n-Rollathon will take place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Chesapeake middle and high schools. Registration begins at 9 a.m.
Participants may walk or run the track or "roll" the parking lot area with bikes, roller blades and skateboards.
Registration at the gate will be $15 and each participant will receive a T-shirt. Pre-registering on Friday, May 8, will guarantee a T-shirt the day of the event. Registration forms can be picked up at National City Bank, Dave's Exxon, and all Chesapeake Schools and returned to the middle school or mailed to Cecili Nida, c/o Chesapeake Middle School, 10335 County Road 1, Chesapeake, Ohio, 45619.
The event will include live music and concessions. A balloon release will culminate the day.
