Police blotter: Woman reports TVs, computer, game consoles taken from home
The following information was provided by the Huntington Police Department:
BURGLARY: A 22-year-old woman reported that someone broke into her residence in the 1200 block of 25th Street sometime during the overnight hours of May 8-9 and stole items valued at $2,450.
Stolen were a laptop, three video game machines, two 30-inch flatscreen televisions and six purses. Entry appeared to be made through a rear window, which also was damaged.
LARCENY: A 29-year-old Huntington man told police a 42-inch television and a DVD player were stolen from his house early Monday. The theft was discovered after a woman he knew came to his house and tied him to a bed. She left him alone in the bedroom, and after a few minutes the victim then heard voices in his house, located in the 1800 block of Kite Street, he told police. Once he was able to untie himself, he went into the living room and discovered the items missing. Total value was estimated at $1,255.
LARCENY: A 36-year-old Huntington man reported on May 8 that his sleep apnea machine, worth $1,000, was stolen from his residence in the 2800 block of Rear 4th Avenue sometime between Jan. 1 and Feb. 1.
BURGLARY: A 20-year-old woman told police that sometime between 9 p.m. May 7 and 10 a.m. May 8, someone pried open her front door and stole items from the living room. Taken were a 40-inch flatscreen television, DVD player and a 12-week-old pit bull puppy. Total value of the items, plus damage to the door, was estimated at $675.
BURGLARY: A 35-year-old Huntington man told police that someone broke the glass in his rear door and stole 60 DVDs and $450 in cash from his residence in the 400 block of 8th Street West around 8 p.m. May 8.
ROBBERY: A 43-year-old man told police he was robbed by two unknown suspects while walking in Harris Riverfront Park about 7:30 p.m. Saturday. He said he was near the restroom when the suspects approached him and pushed him to the ground. They kicked him repeatedly and stole his wallet, which contained $50 in cash. He was treated for minor injuries at St. Mary's Medical Center.
BURGLARY: A 92-year-old man told police he discovered on Sunday morning when he woke up that $3,000 and a checkbook were missing from his bedroom dresser. There was no evidence of a break-in at the residence, located in the 3000 block of Hughes Street.
ATTEMPTED ARSON: A 27-year-old woman told police that an unknown suspect threw three beer bottles, each filled with gasoline and stuffed with a rag, at her car, which was parked in the 500 block of Hagan Street around 3 a.m. Monday.
All three bottles missed her car, but one did ignite and burned out after hitting the road.
The following information was provided by the Cabell County Sheriff's Office:
BURGLARY/BREAKING AND ENTERING: A 49-year-old Huntington woman reported that a building she owns in the 3200 block of Piedmont Road was burglarized sometime before 7 a.m. Sunday. Taken were two tile saws, two grinders, a saw and two torch gauge hoses. Including the damaged window, the total loss is estimated at nearly $1,000.
BURGLARY/BREAKING AND ENTERING: A 48-year-old Huntington woman said that her residence in the 1100 block of Cedar Crest Drive was burglarized sometime after 5 p.m. Sunday. Reported stolen were a laptop computer, a credit card, two packs of cigarettes and $250 in cash. Including the cash, her total loss is estimated at $1,067.
PROBATION VIOLATION: Officers from the Cabell County Probation Office were checking a residence in the 1200 block of 25th Street, where 27-year-old Kirt Nigel Warner lives on home confinement. Once inside, officers said they discovered a loaded pistol in a holster in the kitchen closet, a plate with white powder that was later identified as cocaine, $415 in cash in the bedroom, $113 in the living room and $600 on Warner. Baggies of suspected marijuana also were found inside and outside the house.
Digital scales also were found, and two cell phones and a laptop also were confiscated. Warner was incarcerated at 12:40 p.m. Friday, May 8.
The following information was provided by the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:
Brandon Scott Wiblen, 21, was incarcerated at 5:20 a.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony nighttime burglary, along with misdemeanor receiving/transferring stolen property and obtaining property by false pretenses. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
Kimila Sue Hall, 42, was incarcerated at 4:45 a.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged her with felony nighttime burglary, along with misdemeanor public intoxication and petit larceny. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
Dustin Lee Wiblen, 19, was incarcerated at 2 a.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with a felony bench warrant, along with misdemeanor receiving/transferring stolen property and obtaining property by false pretenses. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
Girard Allan Adkins, 51, was incarcerated at 12:28 a.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
Noah Alexander Flora, 21, was incarcerated at 12:28 a.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony robbery. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
