300 gallons of diesel fuel spills into city sewer
HUNTINGTON -- Firefighters responded to a large diesel spill Friday morning in Huntington's East End.
Cabell County 911 received word of the incident about 8:20 a.m. CSX advised 300 gallons of diesel fuel spilled into the city sewer system near 5th Avenue and 25th Street. CSX said the diesel fuel came from a portable tank at a locomotive area, which sets back from 5th Avenue.
Firefighters cleared the scene in about 15 minutes. Dispatchers said a CSX environmental team and the city sanitation workers would take care of the situation.
