Deickman case pushed to January next year
HUNTINGTON -- It will be next year before a 39-year-old man faces trial on a charge that he dumped his roommate's body along Interstate 64 near Milton.
Erick Linwood Deickman appeared in Cabell Circuit Court for a status conference Monday. Deickman waived his right to a speedy trial.
Circuit Judge Dan O'Hanlon scheduled another status hearing for Jan. 29, 2010. The judge agreed to consider reducing Deickman's bond at that time. He will be evaluated for the day report center and home confinement.
A September 2009 indictment charges Deickman, of Morehead City, N.C., with felony concealment of a deceased human body.
Investigators believe Deickman dumped the body of his roommate, Andrew Raymond Mulvany Jr., along Interstate 64 near Milton.
It was discovered by a state highways worker April 27 during a routine check of Interstate 64. The body was inside an industrial-sized refuse container sealed with duct tape.
Deickman was considered a person of interest in the death of Andrew Raymond Mulvany Jr.
