December 01, 2009 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Two Detroit men were sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers on drug-related convictions.

Jamel C. Brown, 29, was sentenced to 14 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute oxycodone. According to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Brown had pleaded guilty in June to possession with intent to sell the prescription drug.

The arrest was made by the Huntington Drug and Violent Crime Task Force. Police confiscated 80 oxycodone pills and $2,035 in cash. As part of his plea agreement, Brown said he sold a total of 125 80-milligram oxycodone pills prior to his arrest, the release said.

In a separate case, Marcus D. Allen, 27, also of Detroit, pleaded guilty before Chambers to carrying a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime. Allen, who is scheduled to be sentenced March 1, 2010, faces up to life in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Allen was arrested in May in the 200 block of Marcum Terrace in Huntington. Law enforcement confiscated 56 individual bags of marijuana, $5,107 in cash and a loaded .38-caliber revolver.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' River Cities Gun Crimes Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
