Barboursville optometrist named Optometrist of the Year

BARBOURSVILLE -- Dr. Glenn Bailey of Barboursville was named Optometrist of the Year at the annual Congress of the West Virginia Optometric Association last month in Charleston.

"Dr. Bailey has been instrumental in the advancement of the optometric profession," said Chad D. Robinson, executive director, in a press release.

Bailey began practicing in Huntington and Barboursville in 1980 after graduating from The Ohio State University School of Optometry. In 2000 he moved from the Huntington Mall to U.S. 60 in Barboursville. He is a native of West Virginia and attended Marshall University.

Bailey is a past president of the West Virginia Optometric Association and in 2006 was appointed by Gov. Joe Manchin to the West Virginia Board of Optometry, the state licensing and governing board for optometrists.

Bailey and his associate, Melissa Leoni, O.D., treat a variety of eye conditions, eye diseases and provide expert vision correction for patients of all ages. Bailey Eye Care offers complete eye care, contact lens services, and a full line of eyeglass frames and lenses.
