Kids program focuses on hand-on science learning
HUNTINGTON -- A new program for children for kids that focuses on hands-on science learning and the arts will kick off with a day camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Barnett Center, 1524 10th Ave.
The "Art in the Garden" program is a partnership between the West Virginia State University Extension Service and Huntington Community Gardens. It allows kids to spend the day learning about plants, gardening and environmental science while creating masterpieces of garden-focused art for holiday gifts for the family.
Cost is $10 per child. Extended hours are available for an additional fee, and scholarships are available as well.
