Three arrested in Scioto County drug bust
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio --Three people have been arrested in Portsmouth following a drug bust in Scioto County, according to the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force.
Narcotics-related search warrants were served at two locations in Portsmouth on Thursday afternoon by task force members along with Portsmouth police and detectives from the Scioto County sheriff's office, according to a news release.
After a search by law enforcement, officers seized about 130 grams of suspected heroin with a street value of $18,200, $4,400 in cash, a firearm, digital scales and other materials suspected of being used for the purpose of trafficking in drugs, according to the release.
Arrested were: Brandon L. Jackson, 32, of the 1500 block of Grant Street, Portsmouth; Aaron M. Knolton, 24, of Dayton; and Joshua M. Walls, 33, of the 1400 block of Park Street, Portsmouth, according to the release.
Walls and Knolton were charged with trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin and possession of criminal tools. Jackson was additionally charged with possession of heroin and having a weapon while under disability.
Knolton is being held on a $252,500 bond in the Scioto County Jail, Walls is being held on a $50,000 bond, and Jackson is being held on a $12,500 bond, according to the release.
Tips from the public were a factor in the investigation, according to the release.
