Museum hosts Docent Open House
HUNTINGTON -- The Huntington Museum of Art offered community members the chance to become more involved with the facility during a Docent Open House on Tuesday night.
Interested parties only needed to show up at the museum, where they were educated about the volunteer and training opportunities that come with the position.
Docents work with the museum's education department and lead school children and museum visitors on guided tours. No experience or background in art is required to become a docent.
Docents spend about 90 minutes each Monday morning receiving instruction about art and exhibits at the museum as part of the program.
For more information about how to become a docent or about the museum, visit www.hmoa.org or call 304-529-2701.
