MU to host Band Day for local schools
HUNTINGTON -- Marshall University's Marching Thunder will host Band Day events on Saturday, Sept. 7, to coincide with a home football game against Gardner-Webb University.
Members of 11 high school bands will participate in Band Day and will join the Marching Thunder for a combined halftime show honoring veterans and current members of the military.
Band Day events begin at 3:45 p.m. Saturday with a full rehearsal at the practice field followed by a walk-through at 4 p.m. High school bands will go to the stadium at 5:30 p.m. and prepare to march. Game kick-off is at 6:30 p.m. Band activities conclude at approximately 10 p.m.
