Orchestra presents 'Twisted Sisters' production

January 12, 2008 @ 11:29 PM

ASHLAND -- Many adults had the night to themselves Saturday to enjoy "Twisted Sisters," a production by the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra about the three mad ladies of opera -- Lucia, Salome and Marguerite -- at the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland.

Alongside the orchestra, soprano Amy Johnson performed each song, portraying each woman's murderous past with the use of stage props and costumes.

J.R. Cassidy, the orchestra's conductor, described the storyline as dark, featuring some graphic detail, including a severed head.

The Paramount plays host to Ritch Collins' Three-0 on Thursday, Jan. 17, and welcomes JD Crowe & The New South and The Grascals on Friday, Jan. 18.

Liya Huang plays the harp as the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra performs "Twisted Sisters: Mad Ladies of the Opera" on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at the Paramount Arts Center.
