'We Are Marshall' exhibit opens Tuesday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Costumes and other movie props from "We Are Marshall" will go on display Tuesday at the Marshall Hall of Fame Cafe in downtown Huntington at the corner of 9th Street and 3rd Avenue.

Shots made during filming in Huntington and Atlanta also will be exhibited.

The 2006 movie starring Matthew McConaughey as football coach Jack Lengyel chronicles Marshall University's rise from the ashes of a 1970 plane crash that killed most of its football team, half the coaching staff and several prominent members of the Huntington community.

University President Stephen Kopp, athletics director Bob Marcum, former assistant coach Red Dawson, former quarterback Reggie Oliver and newsman Keith Morehouse, whose parents were killed in the crash, are scheduled to attend Tuesday's ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon.
