ASHLAND, Ky. -- Two people wanted in connection with the death of a toddler in Lincoln County were arrested Saturday in Raceland, Ky., by Kentucky State Police.

Bryon N. Morrison, 38, and Pearl Jean Christian, 45, were taken into custody at a funeral home in Raceland, Ky., where services for 2-year-old Chevy Virgil Waughtel, who died Jan. 14, were held. A stove fell on him at a house along Pettie Coat Junction Road, a rural route off W.Va. 10 and the Trace Fork of Four Mile Creek Road, in Branchland.

A release from the Kentucky State Police sent out Saturday states the West Virginia State Police notified them Morrison and Christian might attend the toddler's funeral at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland. Kentucky authorities responded and located both individuals, who were taken into custody without incident. Christian was the child's grandmother, and Morrison is her boyfriend, according to the obituary provided to The Herald-Dispatch.

They were charged with felony counts of being fugitives from justice and lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center on Saturday afternoon. They are facing felony child neglect charges resulting in death in West Virginia.

The toddler, son of Betty Christian and William Waughtel Sr., was buried Saturday.
