January 22, 2013 @ 11:00 PM

HUNTINGTON — Women who have always wanted to do their own work on their house or try an in-demand career such as welding have their opportunity.

The ONOW program is starting a new session this week at the Cabell County Career Technology Center, and it's free.

ONOW, which stands for Orientation to Nontraditional Occupations for Women, is a class offered from noon to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning this week and running through the end of May. This free training program explores nontraditional careers for women, covering topics such as industrial safety, construction math, blueprint reading, and hand and power tool usage in a female friendly atmosphere.

The Cabell County Career Technology Center is located at 1035 Norway Ave. and can be reached at 304-528-5106, ext. 225.
