Bank offers traveling tax assistance this weekend
HUNTINGTON -- Local residents hoping to get a head start on their income taxes have the chance to do just that this weekend.
The Fifth Third Bank Financial Empowerment Mobile, or eBus, is traveling throughout Huntington to offer assistance in filing taxes and credit report checks.
On Thursday, the eBus was at the J.W. Scott Community Center, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, it will be stationed at Marshall University, across from the Memorial Student Center.
The eBus will make its final appearance in Huntington from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Cabell County Public Library Downtown Branch.
The eBus tour corresponds with National Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Day, which is Friday.
Free tax preparation sites will be "open for business" Friday at more than 81 locations statewide. A complete listing of tax preparation sites is available on www.wveitc.com or by dialing 2-1-1.
