Evening fire under investigation
HUNTINGTON -- A Friday evening fire at a home in Trenton Place is under investigation.
The fire was reported to Cabell County 911 dispatchers at 9:15 p.m.
Emergency responders were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of 7th Avenue, and when firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the back door to the home was on fire, said Lt. Tim Salyers.
They were able to quickly extinguish the fire, but a Cabell County EMS crew was called to the scene after the homeowner said he was experiencing chest pains, Salyers said.
Salyers said it was unclear as to how the door caught on fire Friday, and investigators with the fire marshal's office would investigate the incident.
