Jeremy Johnson, 30, of Huntington exited a home in the 2800 block of North Staunton Street and surrendered to police just before 7 p.m., Huntington Police Lt. John Williams said in a press release Thursday evening.
Police issued a warrant for Johnson's arrest Wednesday evening, charging him with first degree robbery.
Officers spent the better part of Thursday afternoon conducting an observation of the area after receiving information about Johnson's whereabouts.
Johnson's arrest stems from a robbery that took place Wednesday afternoon at the CVS Pharmacy located on the corner of 20th Street and 8th Avenue.
Employees told police two white males walked into the store 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and passed a note to the cashier at the front of the store demanding cash from the register. The note also indicated the men had a gun, but they never brandished a weapon during the incident, Huntington Police Lt. John Williams said.
A police report indicted the men got away with about $199 in cash and fled on foot.
Williams said investigators anticipate Johnson's arrest will lead to the identification of the second suspect.
Johnson was incarcerated at the Western Regional Jail on Thursday night. His bond was set at $100,000.
