Bosnian twins perform at Marshall

HUNTINGTON -- Twin sisters from Bosnia who teach and tour as Duo Miric led a master class at Marshall University Monday afternoon.

Later, Tanja and Darka Miric performed a classical guitar recital in Smith Recital Hall for a free concert in the evening.

Later this week, the College of Fine Arts will host a closing reception for "Connection: Formation through Disconnect" at Birke Art Gallery. The reception is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14. Visiting ceramic artist Darien Johnson will give a public lecture in Smith Hall Room 154 at 6:30 p.m.

He has been published in "500 Ceramic Sculptures," "Surface Design for Ceramics" and "Ceramics Monthly."

The art will be on display through Friday, March 15. The Birke Art Gallery is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays.

All gallery events are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
