Spaghetti dinner to benefit homeless vets
HUNTINGTON -- Huntington Elks Lodge 313, located at 1015 4th Ave., will host a spaghetti dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 15, to raise money for homeless veterans.
Cost is $8 per person and one nonperishable food item with all of the proceeds going toward the Homeless Veterans Resource Center in downtown Huntington.
The Resource Center provides veterans with the information and skills they need to find permanent housing and seek employment.
The dinner is co-hosted by Tri-State Cyclists for Veterans, a group of cyclists who ride from Huntington to Washington, D.C., every year to raise money for the Resource Center. Donations can be made toward the group's cause via PayPal by using the email address cyclist4vets@aol.com.
Checks also can be made out to "VA Volunteer Services" with "homeless program ride" written in the memo line and mailed to Homeless Veterans Resource Center (ATTN: LeeAnn Bills, bike ride) 624 9th St., Huntington, WV 25701. All donations are tax-deductible.
