New circuit clerk appointed in Cabell

Purchase this photoHUNTINGTON -- Jeffrey E. Hood took an oath of office Monday afternoon becoming Cabell County's newest circuit clerk. The 69-year-old businessman fills a vacancy left by the now retired Adell Chandler.
Hood, a Democrat, will serve in his appointed capacity until November 2014. That's when voters will elected a permanent replacement to serve the final two years of Chandler's unexpired term. He has every intention to be a candidate in that election.
