Local authors read to children at mall

Dec. 10, 2012 @ 11:13 PM

HUNTINGTON -- Several local authors read to children Monday night at the Huntington Mall as part of a special holiday program through the Cabell County Reading Council.

The authors, which included local educators, read from their own books and also some of their favorite Christmas stories.

The authors included Barbara Carlton, Nichols Elementary principal and author of "My Grammie Told Me So;" Robin L. Ramey, instructional coach and author of "Butternut Moon;" and Hannah Tomes, a fifth-grade student author from Cox Landing. Cabell County Superintendent William Smith also read a Christmas story.

The first 40 children also received a free book.
