Eight recently sentenced in Cabell Circuit Court
HUNTINGTON -- The following sentences recently were entered in Cabell Circuit Court by Circuit Judges Dan O'Hanlon and Alfred Ferguson.
CHRISTOPHER LEE DAMRON: The 28-year-old of the 1600 block of 12th Avenue in Huntington was sentenced Sept. 23. Ferguson ordered that Damron receive a two- to 20-year prison sentence.
Damron had pleaded guilty to two counts of breaking and entering. A May 2009 indictment had charged Damron with attempted first-degree robbery and two counts of breaking and entering.
HALI BUTLER: The resident of the 1600 block of Doulton Avenue was sentenced Sept. 18. O'Hanlon ordered that Butler receive four months probation with restitution.
Butler had pleaded guilty to misdemeanor receiving/transferring stolen property. It was the sole count of a May 2009 indictment.
ANGEL MIDKIFF: The resident of W.Va. 1 in Salt Rock was sentenced Sept. 18. O'Hanlon ordered that Midkiff receive three years probation with restitution.
Midkiff had pleaded guilty to misdemeanor embezzlement. A May 2009 indictment had charged Midkiff with felony embezzlement.
DEJUAN JONES: The 36-year-old of the 2200 block of 10th Avenue in Huntington was sentenced Sept. 15. Ferguson ordered that Jones receive a one- to 15-year prison sentence.
Jones had pleaded guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. A May 2008 indictment had charged Jones with two counts of delivering a controlled substance.
TRAVIS CLONINGER: The 19-year-old of the 400 block of August Drive in Huntington was sentenced Sept. 14. Ferguson ordered that Cloninger receive a 90-day jail sentence.
Cloninger entered a pre-indictment guilty plea to misdemeanor joyriding. A May 2009 indictment had charged Cloninger with receiving stolen goods and improper registration.
MICHAEL HAYDEN: The 41-year-old of the 1500 block of Malcom Road was sentenced Sept. 10. Ferguson ordered that Hayden receive a one- to 10-year sentence.
Hayden had pleaded guilty to a probation violation linked to a transferring stolen property conviction. A September 2008 indictment had charged Hayden with burglary, grand larceny and transferring stolen property.
SARAH OWENS: The 22-year-old of the 300 block of 13th Street West in Huntington was sentenced Sept. 9. Ferguson ordered that Owens receive a six-month and one-day jail sentence.
Owens had pleaded guilty to felony attempt to commit a felony. A September 2008 indictment had charged Owens with child neglect resulting in serious bodily injury.
CONNIE HEMMINGWAY: The 46-year-old of the 1000 block of 16th Street in Huntington was sentenced Sept. 9. Ferguson ordered that Hemmingway receive a one- to 10-year prison sentence.
Hemmingway had entered a pre-indictment guilty plea to felony uttering. A May 2009 indictment had charged Hemmingway with first-degree robbery.
