Former Proctorville resident honored

Crystal Hutchison Faulkner, daughter of Mary Jo Hutchison and the late Winford Hutchison, of Proctorville, Ohio, received "Women of the Year" awards from Enterprising Magazine and The Cincinnati Enquirer, according to a prepared release.

Enterprising Women is the national magazine for women business owners. This is the eighth annual list of the "Enterprising Women of the Year."

The Cincinnati Enquirer chooses 10 women to receive their "Women of the Year" award each year who, through their volunteer work or current careers, have enhanced education, charities or philanthropy in the Tri-State. This is The Enquirer's 42nd annual list of the Women of the Year awards.

Faulkner was honored in Florida on March 18 for the Enterprising Women award and will be honored April 28 in Cincinnati for The Enquirer award.

Faulkner grew up in Proctorville, Ohio. After graduation from Fairland High School, she attended Marshall University. In 1981, Faulkner graduated from Marshall University with an accounting degree and started her professional career with Trainer Wright & Associates in West Virginia.Faulkner moved to Cincinnati in 1984. She is one of the three founding partners of Cooney, Faulkner & Stevens, LLC. Her primary areas of expertise include: financial, business and tax advisory, strategic planning, income and estate tax minimization, fraud and forensic analysis, succession planning, wealth enhancement and transfer, consulting related to business acquisition and disposition.

Faulkner is married to Tom Cooney and has two children, Nick and Ellie.
