Police blotter: Woman reports Honda Civic stolen while at work

The following information was provided by the Huntington Police Department:

A 23-year-old woman reported that her 2005 Honda Civic was stolen sometime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday while she was at work and the automobile was parked in the 500 block of Hal Greer Boulevard. The value of the car was estimated at $18,000.

LARCENY: The owner of The Music Plex, 420 9th St., reported that someone stole two microphones and a pair of headphones from his business sometime between March 3 and March 17. Items are valued at $5,400.

GRAND LARCENY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: An employee at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1102 Adams Ave., reported that between Sunday and Friday an unknown suspect cut the wiring to one of the air conditioning units and stole the copper. The unit was dismantled and parts from the inside were also removed. Damages and stolen items totaled $2,000.

GRAND LARCENY: A 66-year-old man reported that his 1997 Toyota Camry was stolen at approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday while it was parked in the 1900 block of Doulton Avenue.

HIT AND RUN: A 57-year-old man reported that another vehicle struck and damaged his 1996 Lincoln Town Car while it was parked in the 1100 block of 3rd Avenue at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday. The unknown suspect left the scene. Damages were estimated at $800.

LARCENY: A 61-year-old man reported that $1,000 was missing from a safe hidden at his home in the 200 block of 3rd Street, Altizer, sometime between Feb. 24 and March 10, when he noticed it was gone. The victim said that he and his wife were the only ones who knew the safe's location, but stated he had questioned his children on the whereabouts of the missing cash.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A 21-year-old woman reported that someone broke the rear window and dented the quarter panel of her 2001 Chevy Impala between 12:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Thursday while the vehicle was parked in the 900 block of Washington Avenue. Damages were estimated at $500.

BREAKING AND ENTERING AUTO: A 27-year-old man reported that an unknown suspect broke out the front window of his 1998 Chevy Malibu with a piece of concrete and removed an iPod, valued at $250, Thursday evening. The car was parked in the 700 block of 3rd Avenue. Damages to the car totaled $210.

BURGLARY: A 67-year-old man reported that someone had thrown a brick through his basement window and entered the residence in the 100 block of Westview Avenue while he was away between 9:30 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. Thursday. Someone stole a trash can and approximately $500 worth of loose change in the victim's bedroom.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A 34-year-old woman reported that someone threw a rock into a window on the southeast corner of her residence in the 4200 block of Altizer Avenue Thursday afternoon. Window damage was estimated at $300. There was no sign of entry.

The following information was provided by the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:

James E. Blankenship, 34, was incarcerated at 12:15 p.m. Friday on a felony fraudulent schemes charge out of Marshall County and a concealed deadly weapons charge out of Cabell County. Bond was set at $55,000 total. Blankenship turned himself in to Cabell County authorities last week after charges of cultivating marijuana, possession with intent to deliver and receiving and transferring stolen property. At the time, he was released on a $20,000 property bond.

Matthew Scott Mabery, 19, was incarcerated at 2:35 p.m. Friday on charges of felony grand larceny and petit larceny. His bond was set at $15,000.

Gary Wade Jackson, 25, was incarcerated at 8:30 a.m. Friday on felony attempt to operate a meth lab, two county of battery of an officer and obstructing. Bond was set at $15,000.
