Examinations for Amateur Radio license upgrade April 10

HUNTINGTON -- Examinations for people wishing to be granted a new or upgraded Amateur Radio "ham" license from the Federal Communications Commission will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Museum of Radio and Technology, 1640 Florence Ave., off of Harvey Road.

The exams are sponsored by the Tri-State Amateur Radio Association. Any qualified candidate is invited to be tested. The cost is $15 per test.

Preregistration is not necessary but applicants must complete FCC form NCVEC 605, which will be available at the exam session. You must have two forms of accepted identification, including one picture id, the original and a copy of any ham radio license currently held and of any Certificate of Successful Completion of Examination that may have been obtained from a previous exam.
