City Mission seeks support for Easter Dinner
While the Huntington City Mission prepares for its annual Easter Banquet, volunteers at the mission still are seeking donations to make the event a success.
More than 200 people are expected to attend the dinner, which will be from noon to 3 p.m. Easter Sunday, March 31, at the mission located at 1070 7th Avenue.
The event is put together by mission employees, cooks, donors and volunteers, who give both their money and their time said Lynn Clagg, volunteer coordinator at the mission.
"Easter meals are prevalent all over the Tri-State, but everyone cannot afford to eat out or all the extras these meals required," said Clagg. "Here at the mission we seasonally prepare Holiday meals that are second to none, because the community cares."
Donations made to the shelter are tax deductible, said Clagg.
Registration for volunteers will be necessary for the event as to avoid overcrowding, Clagg said. Walk-in volunteers will not be accepted the day of the dinner.
