HUNTINGTON -- An annual tradition for a Marshall University sorority continued Thursday with Alpha Xi Delta's 62nd Strawberry Breakfast.
Victoria Perri, the chapter life vice president who led this year's event, said things couldn't have gone more smoothly. The sisters in the chapter, she said, did a lot of work with nearly 1,000 pre-sale and to-go orders. And, they had a few hundred more show up at the door.
"I never thought I'd be in these shoes and run such a successful event," Perri said. "It was encouraging and made everyone really excited to keep pushing forward to make next year's breakfast successful."
In addition to strawberries, the menu also included pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits, chocolate-covered strawberries and strawberry butter.
Proceeds for the annual breakfast help for upkeep on the sorority house, the chapter savings account, area-wide training and next year's strawberry breakfast.
