Body found in Altizer
HUNTINGTON -- A body was found Saturday evening near a truck that had gone off the road and into thick brush near the train tracks in Altizer.
Huntington Police Detective John Williams, who was on scene with the Cabell County Sheriff's Department, said the truck was found by a young man walking along the train tracks between Terrace Avenue and Jordan-Smith Electric. He found the body after walking closer to investigate the situation, Williams said.
While Williams said they will wait on a positive ID by the coroner Monday, he did say the truck belongs to Altizer resident Kenneth Nash, who went missing earlier this week.
Williams reported that relatives had last talked to Nash, 55, on Monday night. Relatives had described him as disoriented.
Law enforcement had searched the area for two days, Williams said, but had concentrated on the eastern side of 5th Street up Guyan River Road.
Fifth Street, connecting to Terrace Avenue and Guyan River Road, was closed for a few hours while the body and vehicle were removed.
