OPAL BEULAH FLETCHER, 87, of Fraziers Bottom, W.Va., died Monday, August 4, 2008, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born November 5, 1920, in Boone County, West Virginia, a daughter to the late Hershel Jacobs and Anna M. Vickers Jacobs. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Theodore Freeman Meadows and second husband, John Fletcher; two brothers, Junior and Ray Jacobs. She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law Jerry and Denna Meadows and Danny Meadows, all of Fraziers Bottom; daughters and sons-in-law Janet Glenn of Ashton, W.Va., Deanna and Charles Waugh of Ashton, Vickie and George Ball of Glenwood, W.Va., Penny Robinson of Fraziers Bottom, Alma Jewell and Donald Robinson of Pliny, W.Va., Pamela Wray of Fraziers Bottom and Patricia Gibson of Fraziers Bottom; 26 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters Betty (Lonnel) Evans of Huntington, W.Va., and Phyllis Glenn of Milton, W.Va., and brother Charles (Martha) Nelson of Hurricane, W.Va. Funeral service was 11 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008, at Deal Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, W.Va., with Rev. Bobby Ray and Rev. Michael Wray officiating. CHARLOTTE L. MARTIN, 54, of St. Albans, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2008, surrounded by her family, after fighting a courageous battle with breast cancer. She is the daughter of Clifford C. and the late Alice G. Clark of Culloden, W.Va. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl "Butch" Clark, brother-in-law Wesley "Lee" Call and Donald Mynes Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Timothy R. Martin of St. Albans; sons Donald L. Mynes Jr. and his wife Aimee of Hurricane, W.Va., Jaymz P. Mynes of Huntington, W.Va.; grandson Donald Lewis Mynes III, who she loved and cherished with all of her heart; two sisters, Mary "Cathy" Call of Nitro, W.Va., and Linda A. Clark and her husband Dennis Lesavich of Culloden; nieces Jennifer Grueser and Courtney Clark, and nephew Captain Teddy Lee Call of the U.S. Army; great-nieces Brittney Call, Amber, Bailee and Harleigh Grueser and Katherine Call; and great-nephew James Call. Charlotte was born and raised in Hurricane, graduating from Hurricane High School in 1971. She attended Morris Harvey College, graduating with a degree in Business Administration in 1974. Upon graduation she was employed at Mountain State Maxillofacial Surgeons in Charleston, W.Va., with 17 years of service. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and was a living testimony of God's love. She attended Grace Baptist Temple in St. Albans, where she was a part of the church family and enjoyed singing in the choir. Visitation was Saturday, August 2, 2008, at Grace Baptist Temple, St. Albans, with funeral services on Sunday at at the church with Pastor David Pence officiating. Burial followed at Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane. The family wishes to thank the Kanawha Hospice Care, the doctors, nurses and staff at CAMC Oncology Depatment for their services in our time of need. Allen Funeral Home, Hurricane, is in charge of the arrangements.
GARY MICHAEL PARKER SR., 59, of Culloden, companion of Carol Johnson of Culloden, died Tuesday in Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service 1 p.m. Friday, Heck Funeral Home, Milton; burial at Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Visitation one hour before service Friday at the funeral home.
