Woman remains in serious condition following accident
WAYNE -- A 19-year-old woman remained in serious condition Monday, two days after a vehicle accident in eastern Wayne County.
Sheriff's deputies in the county identified her as one of three people in a vehicle that crashed Saturday along Little Lynn Creek Road. Investigators said the vehicle left the roadway, traveled through a yard, across a driveway and struck a utility pole. The vehicle then struck a mobile home, according to Wayne County Sheriff's Cpl. W.S. Johnson.
The passengers -- Kari Adkins, 19, and Amber Finley, 18 -- were reportedly transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital. Finley was not listed at Cabell Huntington Hospital on Monday, but Adkins remained in serious condition around 5 p.m.
Deputies listed Willard Cyphers, 18, of East Lynn as the driver. He refused medical treatment, Johnson said.
No citations had been issued as of Monday, but the accident remained under investigation.
