Man reports equipment stolen, later found at business

The following information was provided by the Cabell County Sheriff's Office:

A 69-year-old man reported that sometime between Aug. 1 and 23 someone broke the locks on a storage trailer he owns in the 4400 block of Ohio River Road and took $2,470 in excavating equipment. The equipment was later located at a local recycling business.

THEFT AND DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: An employee at Laura's Laundromat in the 6000 block of U.S. 60 reported that someone broke into two coin boxes and attempted to break into several other coin machines and a video game machine Sunday. The damage to the coin boxes and game machine totaled $600.

The following information was provided by the Huntington Police Department:

A 79-year-old woman reported that someone has been taking a credit card from her home in the 700 block of 31st Street and made $1,500 in charges between Feb. 8 and Aug. 5. Police have a suspect.

FORGERY/UTTERING: A 26-year-old man reported that sometime between Aug. 1 and 22 someone took a check from his residence in the 2800 block of 3rd Avenue and tried to have it cashed for $600. Police have a suspect.

BURGLARY: A 23-year-old woman reported that someone kicked in the door of her residence along 7th Avenue West and took a laptop computer worth $1,500 Monday evening. Police have a suspect.

LARCENY FROM VEHICLE: A 35-year-old man reported that someone broke into his vehicle parked in the 2900 block of Jarrell Street Monday morning and took a bag containing $500 DVD players, DVDs and tapes.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A 71-year-old man reported that someone did $2,000 in damage to a brick wall along his property in the 400 block of 13th Avenue Sunday morning. The victim reported that a security camera on his property also showed someone trying to gain entry to his vehicle.

UTTERING, POSSESSION AND OBSTRUCTING: Police arrested Betty Sue Dement, 41, Huntington, in relation to an incident at Huntington Bank.

The arrest came after a 65-year-old man living in the 900 block of 5th Avenue reported that someone was trying to cash a check that had been stolen from him on Monday.

The following information was provided by the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:

Tony Curtis Bays, 47, was incarcerated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities in Lincoln County charged him with arson, domestic battery, domestic assault and public intoxication.

Jeffery Britt Dillard, 29, was incarcerated at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities in Putnam County charged him with felony third-offense driving under influence and misdemeanor driving on a suspended/revoked license for a prior DUI. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Matthew Garrett Patterson, 23, was incarcerated at 1 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities in Mason County charged him with felony nighttime burglary. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Tereca Gail Patton, 32, was incarcerated at 9:40 p.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged her with felony uttering, conspiracy to commit a felony, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and obstruction. Bond was $7,000.

Matthew Clark Diengess, 30, was incarcerated at 6:45 p.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony cultivation of marijuana. Bond was $40,000.

Calvin Wesley Smith, 27, was incarcerated 10:30 a.m. Monday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with a felony probation violation. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Jacob Alexander Endicott, 18, was incarcerated 8:20 a.m. Monday. Authorities in Wayne County charged him with 10 counts of felony grand larceny and single count of daytime burglary. Bond was $30,000.
