Woman reports forced entry, $7,600 in stolen items
The following information was provided by the Cabell County Sheriff's Office:
A 54-year-old woman reported that someone forced open the rear door to her residence in the 3900 block of Mount Union Road and took more than $7,600 in electronics, jewelry and guns Tuesday. The home sustained $200 in damages.
BURGLARY: An employee of King Spirits in the 5600 block of U.S. 60 reported that someone took $3,084 and a till register worth $150 sometime Monday night. Police have a suspect.
GRAND LARCENY: A 72-year-old man reported that someone took his vehicle, worth $2,000, while he was jumping another vehicle in the 6000 block of Hickory Ridge Road Saturday evening. Police were able to locate the victim's vehicle and return it to him, and they have suspects in custody.
ASSAULT: A 47-year-old man reported that someone shoved and threatened him during a dispute at his residence in the 1000 block of Libby Lane Friday evening. Police have a suspect.
The following information was provided by the Huntington Police Department:
Jason Alexander Thompson, 26, of Charlotte, N.C., was arrested in relation to an incident along the 1900 block of Artisan Avenue Thursday morning.
The arrest came after police observed a man pacing back on forth along Artisan Avenue. Police confiscated a bag of a white substance that tested positive for being a cocaine-based substance and $226.
BREAKING AND ENTERING: An employee at Commercial Refrigeration in the 800 block of 30th Street reported that sometime between Aug. 20 and 23 someone cut fencing to gain access to the business and took copper pieces out of an air conditioning unit. The business sustained $300 in damages.
LARCENY: A member of St. John's Episcopal Church reported that someone took two copper spouts from the church building in the 300 block of Washington Boulevard sometime between Aug. 20 and 22. The church sustained between $800 and $1,000 in damages.
LARCENY: A 53-year-old man reported that someone broke into his vehicle parked along the 200 block of Norway Avenue and took a body armor worth $800 Tuesday morning. There were no signs of forced entry.
LARCENY: A 41-year-old man reported that someone broke into his vehicle parked along Oney Avenue and took two rings worth $800 sometime Monday night.
STOLEN AUTO: A 59-year-old man reported that someone took his pickup truck, which contained $2,000 in miscellaneous tools while the vehicle was parked in the 2700 block of Highlawn Avenue Monday night.
BATTERY: Zachary Ryan Grove, 21, of Milton was charged with battery of a police officer, disorderly conduct and assault of a police officer and Jonathan McCallister, 21, of Ona was charged with disorderly conduct and assault on a police officer Thursday.
The arrests came after an incident involving two men at Jake's Bar in the 1400 block of 4th Avenue. Both of the men became aggressive with officers during the arrest.
The following information was provided by the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:
Burrell David High, 49, was incarcerated at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with a felony bench warrant. Bond was denied.
