Sears to close at Kyova Mall

Feb. 09, 2014 @ 12:00 AM

ASHLAND, Ky. -- Sears Department Store at the Kyova Tri-State Mall will close its doors May 11.

Store manager Belinda Stambaugh confirmed the store's nearly 70 employees were informed of the decision last week. She said they were not given a reason for the closing.

Sears Holding Corp., the parent company of Sears and Kmart, has closed more than 100 stores across the country in the past two years.

No plans have been announced to close the Sears at the Huntington Mall.
