Police blotter: Huntington man reports ATV, tools stolen from garage
The following information was provided by the Cabell County Sheriff's Office:
A Huntington man returned home from a three-week vacation on Aug. 26 to find the detached garage at his residence in the 4700 block of Ohio River Road had been broken into and burglarized.
The victim reported a Kawasaki ATV worth $5,000 and a $1,000 worth of Craftsman tools, among other items, had been taken.
TRANSFERRING AND RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY: A Huntington man was arrested Aug. 20 and charged with a felony count of transferring and receiving stolen property. Thomas E. Hill, who lives in an apartment in the 200 block of Norway Avenue, was served with a search warrant after an informant told deputies he sold the suspect a stolen television. When deputies arrived, Hill and two other men were detained while the house was searched.
According to the report, deputies located four stolen televisions. Drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana also was located in the apartment. Four days after his arrest, Hill returned additional property to the detective's office, which he had purchased and believed was stolen.
BURGLARY: A Salt Rock woman reported to deputies that her residence on Upper Toms Creek Road was burglarized sometime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday.
According to the report, the sliding glass door was pried open, and the house was ransacked. The damage to the door was estimated at $300, while various tools, a game system and a 40-inch television were reported stolen. Total value of the items was listed as $2,150.
THEFT FROM BUILDING: A Lesage man reported that someone pried open the lock on his storage building and stole various items, including about $2,700 worth of Blenko drinking glasses and wine goblets. The incident took place sometime between Aug. 25 and 27, in the 6000 block of Cox Landing Road.
The victim reported that the items were in the storage building because his house had burned down in February. The victim told deputies that a known suspect may have been responsible. He said he has run the suspect off the property several times and has recently been seen in the neighborhood.
The following information was provided by the Huntington Police Department:
A 79-year-old woman reported that someone stole various prescription drugs from her car sometime between 5 and 6 p.m. Aug. 24, while it was parked in the 800 block of 4th Avenue. The drugs included Lortab, Detrol and Zoloft.
LARCENY: A complainant from the Sixth Avenue Church of Christ reported that someone stole the copper piping from the church's heat pump sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The piping was worth about $500, while the damage to the heat pump is estimated at $2,500. The complainant said several homeless men have been sleeping behind the church, where the heat pump is located.
The following information was provided by the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:
Martin Woodrow Williamson, 46, was incarcerated around 3:45 a.m. Friday. Authorities in Lincoln County charged him with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and one misdemeanor capias. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
Larry Jason Kimbro, 26, was incarcerated around 5:54 p.m. Thursday. Authorities in Mason County charged him with two felony counts of cultivation of marijuana. Bond was $8,000.
Donald Eugene Young, 36, was incarcerated around 9:45 p.m. Thursday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with one felony count of attempted burglary, two misdemeanor counts of obstructing, one felony count of receiving and transferring stolen property over $1,000, one misdemeanor count of driving on a revoked license and one misdemeanor count of destruction of property. Bond was $10,000.
