Police blotter: Man charged with receiving, transferring stolen property
Police reports from the Huntington Police Department provided the following information:
Joshua Dewayne Plante, 18, of Huntington was arrested about 10:15 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Willoughby Road. He was charged with receiving and transferring stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
Responding units observed a vehicle in the area that was improperly parked. A check of the license plate showed that the vehicle was reported stolen on Monday, Jan. 14.
Police approached the person driving the vehicle and arrested a man. A small bag of marijuana was recovered.
POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE/POSSESSION WITH INTENT: Maurice L. Stewart, 29, of Macon, Ga., was arrested about 2:40 p.m. Friday in the 1900 block of Wilshire Boulevard. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent.
Members of the Huntington Police Department's Drug Unit stopped a vehicle for suspected drug activity.
Officers recovered a bag of marijuana and a bag of crack cocaine.
LARCENY: A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a 57-year-old Huntington man's 2000 white Jeep Cherokee between 3 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of 4th Avenue.
PROSTITUTION/LOITERING: Leslie Ann Duncan, 40, of Hamlin was arrested about 3:46 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of 9th Avenue and charged with prostitution.
ROBBERY: A 56-year-old Huntington man reported that he was robbed of some change while doing his morning exercise routine about 4 a.m. in the 600 block of 7th Avenue.
The victim described a man in his mid-20s, wearing a black jacket and a black hoodie over his head, approached him from behind and asked for money.
Reports from the Cabell County Sheriff's Department provided the following information:
Two Huntington residents were arrested after the Cabell County Sheriff's Drug Unit and Task Force executed a search warrant about 5 p.m. Jan. 9 in the 2700 block of Hollywood Place.
Oscar Frye III was charged with possession of a controlled substance, and Melissa D. Lockhart was charged with possession with intent to deliver.
Two syringes containing suspected tar heroin, empty packaging and numerous syringes were found in the residence. A deputy recovered four grams of crack cocaine and eight balls of suspected tar heroin.
DUI (THIRD OFFENSE): William M. Anderson, 50, of Huntington was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday in the 2800 block of 5th Avenue. He was charged with his third DUI offense.
His prior convictions were in 1998, 2003 and December 2007.
BURGLARY: A 30-year-old man from Salt Rock, reported that someone broke in the back door of his residence and took jewelry between 8 a.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of Bowen Creek Road.
Deputies have one suspect.
