IHOP to host Dine for Kids fundraising event

November 06, 2009 @ 12:00 AM

BARBOURSVILLE -- A Dine for Kids fundraising event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) in Barboursville near the Huntington Mall. Twenty percent of all proceeds during those hours will go directly to FrameWorks of Mission West Virginia.

FrameWorks is an initiative that works to empower the lives of foster children while recruiting adoptive families for waiting foster children. There are currently approximately 1,000 children in the West Virginia foster care system who are legally eligible to be adopted.

"We are very appreciative of this opportunity," said Kelly Thompson, FrameWorks director, in a press release. "With so many children waiting for a forever family, we are more than pleased to partner with IHOP on such a wonderful and worthwhile event."

FrameWorks staff will be available at the event to answer questions and provide more information about children in West Virginia who are eligible to be adopted.
