Health center to offer free training on several topics
HUNTINGTON -- The Center for Rural and Community Health at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine is offering free training in Huntington to become a Community Health Education Resource Person, a trained community member who provides health information and support on topics including health, disease, nutrition, physical activity and health behaviors.
Sessions will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 10-11, 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 12, and 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Cabell-Huntington Health Department, 703 7th Ave., Huntington. All four sessions must be attended in order to complete training. Sessions are free.
Training is open to all individuals age 18 and older. No previous health care experience is required.
