EMS workers enhance skills at conference

Purchase this photoHUNTINGTON -- Several area emergency medical providers attended the 2nd Annual EMS Conference on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the St. Mary's Conference Center.
The conference was designed to enhance the knowledge and skill of health care professionals in emergency care and first-response management to improve patient outcomes. Topics included head injuries in athletes, ergonomics, capnography, left-ventricular assist device, crime scene preservation, advanced imaging for acute stroke treatment decisions, infection control and how the brain processes danger and loss.
The guest speakers included local physicians, therapists, nurses, counselors and law enforcement representatives.
