Boyd County Library hosts Girls' Night Out program

December 24, 2012 @ 07:10 PM

ASHLAND -- Boyd County Public Library will host its monthly Girls' Night Out program on Wednesday, Dec. 26.

"Sparkle" will be shown at the Main Branch, located at 1740 Central Ave., starting at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $2, or bring a food item to share. All money collected will be used to purchase pizza and other refreshments.

This 2012 movie, rated PG-13, is set in the 1960s. Three sisters form a girl group and soon become local sensations with major label interest. But fame becomes a challenge as the close-knit family begins to fall apart. Whitney Houston stars as the girls' mom -- the last movie role before her death.

Girls' Night Out is held on the last Wednesday of each month. Men are welcome. The program typically involves movies that are not appropriate for children. The January feature is "Hope Springs."

Reasonable accommodation for people with special needs should be requested at least 48 hours prior to the program. Call 606-329-0518, Ext. 1140, for more information.
