Girl Scout cookie sales kick off Jan. 3
BARBOURSVILLE -- It's that time of year again -- Girl Scout Cookie Time.
Girl Scouts from Cabell, Putnam, Mason and Wayne Counties officially will kick off this year's sale at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at the Huntington Mall.
Girls will don their pajamas and hear a special Girl Scout story read by Susan Nicholas, WSAZ anchor and local Girl Scout volunteer, as a part of this year's cookies and milk kickoff.
The annual cookie sale begins on Jan. 4 and continues until Feb. 1. Area Girl Scouts will be taking orders during this time for eight different varieties. Those attending Thursday's kickoff can sample some of this year's cookies. Cookies are $3.50 per box.
The annual cookie sale offers Girl Scouts the opportunity to earn money to support their troop activities and also teaches them about money management.
The public is invited to the center court area of the Huntington Mall Thursday.
