Farmers' Market meeting planned for Jan. 20
WINFIELD, W.Va. -- A general membership meeting for the Putnam Farmers' Market is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at the Putnam County Courthouse in Winfield, W.Va.
The meeting is open to anyone interested in joining the market. The number of meat and produce vendors is unlimited at this time.
Vendors must have a garden or farm in West Virginia within a 50-mile radius of the Putnam County Courthouse in Winfield. Products must be grown or produced by the vendor, who is required to register with the Putnam County Health Department.
Applications will be available at the meeting.
Meat vendors must adhere to West Virginia Department of Agriculture regulations.
Items must be locally produced and must be juried for acceptance.
Farmers' Market membership is $25 for individuals and $35 for family.
The Putnam Farmers' Market also offers a community booth for free to any local organization that has information or products that relate to the market's agricultural mission. Each group must apply and be approved by the market committee.
