Blotter: Business reports $6,000 in carpet stolen over holidays

The following information was provided by reports filed with the Huntington Police Department:

GRAND LARCENY: An employee at Quality Care Flooring in the 500 block of Washington Avenue reported someone entered the store's warehouse in the 1500 block of Virginia Avenue and took 600 yards of carpet on three rolls worth $6,000 sometime between Nov. 27 and Dec. 24. The employee said the suspects likely entered the warehouse through an unsecured door in the building.

FRAUDULENT USE OF AN ACCESS DEVICE: Two people filed police reports naming the same man as a suspect in the fraudulent use of their debit cards.

A 21-year-old woman reported she went to a party on New Year's Eve in the 900 block of 3rd Avenue, and she left her billfold at a friend's house in the 1000 block of Marcum Terrace. She said when she retrieved it on Jan. 1, she discovered her debit card was missing, and she discovered someone had withdrawn $290 from her bank account.

A 22-year-old woman also attended the party in the 900 block of 3rd Avenue, and the listed suspect provided her a ride to her home in the 1000 block of Marcum Terrace. She said the suspect stayed at her residence, and he left at one point to go to the store while she was asleep. When she woke up she said she noticed her debit card was missing, and someone had withdrawn $325 in cash from her account.

Both incidents remain under investigation.

GRAND LARCENY: A 35-year-old man reported a former employee stole more than $1,000 from his construction company based in the 3800 block of Hilltop Drive sometime between Dec. 5 and Jan. 5. The man said the employee admitted to pawning the tools.

The following information was provided by booking records at the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:

Joseph Christopher Pratt, 35, was incarcerated at 3:50 p.m. Thursday. Authorities in Putnam County charged him with seven felony counts of computer fraud and one count of misdemeanor petit larceny. Bond was $5,000.

Marquis Cavell Davis, 36, was incarcerated at 2:55 p.m. Thursday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Bond was $150,000.

James Ryan Stephens, 26, was incarcerated at 1:20 p.m. Thursday. Authorities in Wayne County charged him with felony receiving and transferring stolen property. Bond was $5,000.

Daniel Olen Price, 28, was incarcerated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Authorities in Wayne County charged him with felony attempting to commit a felony. Bond was denied pending arraingment.

Ralph Oliver Mayes, 37, was incarcerated at 3:25 a.m. Thursday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and misdemeanor obstruction. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Joshua Evert Ruckman, 32, was incarcerated at 3:10 a.m. Thursday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony delivery of a controlled substance. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Rachel Dawn Icenhower, 20, was incarcerated at 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Authorities in Lincoln County charged her with felony burglary and conspiracy, along with misdemeanor destruction of property. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Cecil Edward Steadman, 38, was incarcerated at 12:50 a.m. Thursday. Authorities in Putnam County charged him with felony fleeing with reckless indifference, along with two counts misdemeanor obstruction and single counts driving on a suspended/revoked license, improper/expired registration, no insurance and fleeing on foot. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Gregory Scott Broce, 41, was incarcerated Wednesday. Authorities charged him with being a fugitive from justice. He also faces felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and a firearm charge, along with three counts misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and driving on a suspended/revoked liecense. Bond was denied.

Jamie Lee Adkins, 23, was incarcerated Wednesday. Authorities charged her with being a fugitive from justice. Bond was denied.

Andrew Scott Barton, 23, was incarcerated Wednesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony burglary and misdemeanor petit larceny. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
