Another $100,000 pledged toward children's hospital
HUNTINGTON -- Adding to $1.3 million in donations since 2008, the Cabell Huntington Hospital Auxiliary recently presented another $100,000 donation to the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation to support the Hoops Family Children's Hospital.
The auxiliary's initial pledge of $1 million toward the construction of the children's hospital was intended to take 10 years to fulfill, but was completed in less than half the time through proceeds from the volunteer-supported Cabell Huntington Hospital Gift Shop and other fundraisers.
The Hoops Family Children's Hospital project will construct the hospital's pediatrics unit and pediatric intensive care unit in addition to building a new entrance designed for young patients. More than $12 million has been raised for the children's hospital project fund.
