HUNTINGTON -- The annual Martin Luther King Jr. civil rights march is planned for Monday, Jan. 21, to commemorate the peace and justice that King promoted, according to local NAACP branch president Sylvia Ridgeway.
The march is open to the public, who are encouraged to gather at 10:30 a.m. at Sixteenth Street Baptist Church at 9th Avenue and Elm Street for the march. The march will conclude at the Calvary Baptist Church at 8th Avenue and 9th Street. At the church, those participating are welcome to watch the inauguration of President Obama. Refreshments will be served.
