Valentine's dinner on the schedule
HUNTINGTON -- Developmental Therapy Center, a local nonprofit organization that provides physical, speech and occupational therapy to area residents has announced that tickets are on sale for its 12th annual Valentine Celebration at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Ramada Limited Hotel in Huntington.
Tickets are $65 per person for the event that features national-act comedian Mack Dryden. Dress for the evening is semi-formal. Call 304-523-1164.
All proceeds benefit the patients of Developmental Therapy through assistance in providing equipment, supplies and therapy services.
DTC provides services to infants, children and adults. There are no income, age or geographic restrictions for those needing help. A portion of the treatment includes counseling the patient and family to understand the problem.
The evening begins with a social hour and hors d'oeuvres followed by a buffet dinner by Wedding Bliss. Following dinner, comedian, Mack Dryden takes the stage. He has performed on dozens of TV shows, including "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." There will be dancing to music provided by deejay Phil Chapman.
Door prizes awarded throughout the evening include restaurant and spa gift certificates, and retail gifts and certificates. A silent auction benefiting Developmental Therapy Center featuring vacation getaways will be held throughout the evening.
New this year will be a local celebrity joke-a-thon. Several local celebrities from the Tri-State area will take the stage to compete in the joke-a-thon. The celebrities will be judged by the audience and our professional comedian, Mack Dryden.
"It will be an elegant evening with great entertainment that will benefit many children and adults with special needs," said Leslie Comer-Porter, executive director for Developmental Therapy Center.
