Identity released in recent body discovery
HUNTINGTON -- Medical examiners relied upon X-rays from a previous medical procedure to identify the body of Fred K. Hutchinson.
The Huntington Police Department found the 65-year-old's body Nov. 11 inside a residence at 806 24th St., according to a press release issued Tuesday by Huntington Police Lt. Rocky Johnson. The release indicates Hutchinson died inside of his own residence.
The cause and time of death have not been released. Huntington Police Chief Skip Holbrook has said investigators believe Hutchinson may have lay dead for months. The body was so decomposed authorities could not initially determine its gender.
Johnson has said detectives cannot rule out foul play, but they are not eliminating the possibility that the person died from natural causes.
Officers discovered the body as they responded to a possible break-in at the residence. A neighbor reportedly heard someone kick in the door.
