November 21, 2009 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- The Boys and Girls Club of Huntington honored seven people Thursday evening at its annual Thanksgiving dinner.

Among those was John Anderson, the current board president who freely gives his time to the center.

"He has been with us since the early '70s and was our youngest board president," said Dortha Williamson, executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Huntington. "He gives hundreds of hours each year."

Anderson was presented with the President's Volunteer Service Award.

Six volunteers also were recognized, including Trey Harrison, Brannam Harrison, Shantelle Boltz, Nate Brown, Justin Samson and Madelyn Holbrook.

A number of children were honored for being regular participants in after-school activities and programs.
