HUNTINGTON -- Here are some events that have been canceled or rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy:
INTERSTATE 64 REPAIR: Repairs to an American Electric Power line across Interstate 64 scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 4, have been postponed to Sunday, Nov. 11. The repairs will cause traffic delays from 7 to 11 a.m. in both eastbound and westbound lanes on I-64 from the Kentucky State Line to the Kenova exit, Exit 1. These delays also will affect Route 75/52 southwest of the Tri-State Airport Access Road.
CABELL HUNTINGTON HOSPITAL: The Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center's Lung Cancer Awareness Symposium scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 1, has been postponed. A new date for the education event will be announced at a later time, according to the hospital. Call 304-399-6749 if you would like to be notified of the new date for the event.
ST. MARY'S MEDICAL CENTER: The Total Woman Girls' Night Out event, hosted by St. Mary's Medical Center, originally scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 1, has been rescheduled. The new date for the event is 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. The event was rescheduled because of the shift in trick-or-treat times across the region. VA MEDICAL CENTERS: The VA clinics in Charleston and Lenore, W.Va., were closed Wednesday due to power outages. Veterans needing to reschedule their appointments or assistance may contact the Huntington VA Medical Center at 304-429-6741, Ext. 3580.
The Open House and Enrollment Fair scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Lenore clinic has been canceled.
PEA RIDGE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH: Pea Ridge United Methodist Church is offering its East Pea Ridge Neighborhood Trunk or Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday Nov. 1, inside the Fellowship Hall at 5747 East Pea Ridge Road, Huntington.
