Man reports being attacked with sword at apartment

The following information was provided by reports filed with the Huntington Police Department:

MALICIOUS WOUNDING: A 40-year-old man reported he was attacked by someone with a sword while he was at his apartment in the 1600 block of Marcum Terrace just after 1 a.m. Friday. He said he was just outside of his apartment when a man struck him in the left shin with the sword. The man sustained a "large gash" to his left shin, and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

ROBBERY: An 18-year-old man reported he was walking in the 400 block of Linden Circle just after midnight Thursday when he was approached by a man who said he wanted to talk to him.

The victim said the man led him over to where another man was standing, but when they were together one of the men told the victim, "never mind." As the victim walked away, he said the man demanded his wallet and indicated he had a gun in his possession. He threatened to shoot the victim, who threw down his wallet and his backpack, containing cash, his cellphone, a coat and his identification.

The following information was provided by booking records at the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville:

Jeremiah Tate Collins, 36, was incarcerated at 1 p.m. Friday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with two felony counts of grand larceny, two felony counts of receiving and transferring stolen property and three misdemeanor counts of fraud. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Terry Allen Chaney, 26, was incarcerated at 12:35 p.m. Friday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with two counts each of felony nighttime burglary, felony robbery and felony wanton endangerment in addition to one felony count of conspiracy. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Christopher Storm Dunn, 20, was incarcerated Thursday evening. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Bond was $10,000.

Frances Marie Dement, 32, was incarcerated Thursday evening. Authorities in Cabell County charged her with a felony bench warrant. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Richard Kevin Maynard, 49, was incarcerated Thursday evening. Authorities in Mason County charged him with felony wanton endangerment. Bond was denied pending arraignment.

Johnnie Scott Hall, 42, was incarcerated Thursday evening. Authorities in Mason County charged him with felony grand larceny and a warrant for failure to appear in court. Bond was denied pending arraignment.
